About Frank Guzick

Mr. Larry Guzick, continuing his father legacy.
Frank Guzick was born in Houston, Texas.  He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1939 with a bachelor's and and a master's degree.  He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII and taught returning soldiers after the war at Crozier Tech.  In 1946, he became a teacher and coach at W.H. Adamson High School. In 1956, Guzick became assistant principal at Sunset High School and in 1963 he was named principal of Rylie Junior High.

In 1970, he became principal of Dallas 'first magnet school' Skyline High School. Known as Dallas' "Dean of Principals", Guzick did everything with a passion for perfection. He left an indelible positive imprint on many people and was the one main reason Skyline High School was the pride of Dallas Independent School District and successful in many ways.

Mr. Guzick retired from Dallas ISD in 1985 and continued to work as a consultant, judge debate competitions, and volunteer. He died in 1996 at the age of 81. Buried in Sherman, Texas, his headstone reads, "Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Educator, and Friend to All."
