About Me
Dr. Adreana Davis is currently in her eighth year as the Principal of Frank Guzick Elementary School in the Dallas Independent School District. Prior to her principal position, she served as Middle School Assistant Principal, TAP Master Math Teacher, and 6-8 MathTeacher.
For the past seventeen years, Dr. Davis has worked in several different leadership roles in education and has enhanced the instructional capacity of teachers through professional development sessions, training, and formal and informal evaluations. She has created and facilitated numerous professional development sessions for middle school mathematics teachers and school leaders at conferences at the national, state, and local levels. Most recently, she has presented on the topics of building positive school culture and creating effective school-wide intervention programs at the Region 10 Principal's Conference.
Dr. Davis was named the 2018 Northeast Network Elementary Principal of the Year, 2008 Campus Teacher of the Year, was a member of the Principal Impact Collaborative's 2019 Cohort, and is currently serving as a Dallas ISD New Principal Mentor and Principal Impact Collaborative Alumni Council member.
In one year, she took her campus from a local rating of Developing to Breakthrough, while at the same time earning five state STAAR distinctions. She led this same campus through Dallas ISD's Public School Choice Grant Application, at which time the campus was awarded a $300,000 grant to become a Neighborhood School of innovation implementing the International Baccalaureate-Primary Years Program over the course of the next few years.
In her constant pursuit to mentor and develop educators across the country, she is currently working as an online Academic Coach at the university level for several master's level courses. Courses she has coached include, Contemporary Teaching and Learning Strategies, Curriculum Leadership: Models and Strategies, School Leadership Theory, Mentoring and Coaching, and Practicum in School Leadership.
